I have been a Solent Governor since 2019; joining when my own daughter joined in Reception. I was a Governor in a City Centre school for 10 years prior to this, and so wanted to put my experience to good use and help Solent Schools to be a positive and safe environment for our children.
I work for Portsmouth City Council in the Housing Service, dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour, and so spend my working day supporting families to stay in their homes. This involves building a rapport with residents and working with a variety of multi- agencies in order to resolve what can often be extremely complex and emotional situations.
I hope to share my experience and knowledge by volunteering as a governor to help Solent Schools to continue to be a positive and supportive environment for our children to learn and grow.
